| Metal finishes can be added to almost anything, giving them the look of
copper, silver, gold, pewter, and more. Patinas are metal finishes that
have been given an aged look, either by etching with a mild acid solution
or antiquing with asphaltum or other products that age them. The acid
solutions will often be tinted to enhance the natural patina of the metal,
most common is the familiar blue-green of copper, but many other looks are
possible.
